BEHIND THE SOVEREIGN
Kupid the King is strongly influenced by the community, culture and sounds of his hometown.
Kupid the King is a reputable Hip-Hop Soul Artist who began his extraordinary voyage of self discovery at age 14. Since then, he's used collaboration and experimental sound exploration to shape the signature sound that is enjoyed through his wide musical catalogue.
Kupid began his journey in school at a time when Garage music dominated the UK music scene.
Heavily influenced by OutKast, Tupac & Wyclef Jean, Kupid's rapping style and conscious themes weren't widely appreciated among his peers. However, Kupid began to build a niche music following when taking part in drama plays, spoken word performances and open mic jam nights.
As a late teen Kupid formed Kolossal Entertainment with fellow artist and friend Priscilla Cameron. Kupid & Priscilla hosted local events around The Black Country and performed all over England in shows and competitions. As they began to collaborate, write, record and perform with other artists, they became Kolossal Empire who continued to perform at shows around the country and host club nights & concerts.
Following a series of events that led to a breakdown in Kupid's mental health in 2011, Kolossal Empire parted ways and embarked on separate career paths. Over the next six years Kupid explored radio, events, and the fashion industry, and in 2017 rebranded as Kupid the King.
In Kupid's World, there’s no standing still. Kupid the King constantly strives to evolve and tour with the purpose of offering something unique to devoted fans and followers. He finds inspiration wherever he looks and channels it into his music.
